Newsmakers: League for People with Disabilities names Zerwitz to board of directors

Bonnie Heneson Communications, a full-service marketing communications agency hired Owings Mills-resident Amanda Garman as graphic designer. Garman specializes in web design, logo design, branding, typography and layout.

Prior to joining BHC, Garman interned for Baltimore Magazine, where she helped the art director create advertisements for events, including web banners, signage and magazine ads. in addition, Garman conducted image research and photo editing, and helped with editorial layout.

Garman received her Bachelor of Science in visual communication design with a minor in marketing at Stevenson University. Her academic achievement earned her placement on the dean’s list and membership with Phi Theta Kappa honor society and Phi Beta Lambda business club.

The League for People with Disabilities, the region’s leading nonprofit for people with disabilities, has named Judy Zerwitz to its board of directors. Zerwitz, a resident of Pikesville, is a long-time community advocate and volunteer. she is the current vice president for advocates for communication technologies and the past president of the Dorothy Friedman Caplan Guild.

The League for People with Disabilities offers adult medical day services, autism services and programs, camping and therapeutic recreation, career services and day habilitation for more than 2,000 children and adults with disabilities in the region.
